Later delivered to the Pakistani Air Force as R4000. The only overseas operator of the type, Pakistan flew 36 between 1951 and 1958, although it is reported some may have remained in service as late as 1964. Flown by 11 Squadron, the type was replaced by F86F Sabres.

This Pioneer II was a prototype of a Pioneer I, (VL515) which was civil registered as G-AKBF. The original prototypes (VL515 and VL516) were fitted with Alvis Leonides engines and receiving civil registrations (G-AKBF and G-ANAZ). The first, G-AKBF seen here at Farnborough in 1951 and later to become a RAF Scottish Aviation Pioneer CC.1 - XE512. Built as G-AGRZ. Flown by the RAE 1950-1953 for pressurisation tests. Returned to G-AGRZ for Flight Refuelling Ltd in November 1953, then to Aviation Traders in March 1954 for spares recovery. Scrapped in July 1959.
