This 80% scale replica Fw 190A certainly looks the part. Based at Gatton, it was first registered on 10 July 2003 and is powered by a 400 hp Russian M14-P radial engine. Alliance put the big Fokker through its paces again with an impressive display as 'Unity 991' at the Wide Bay International Airshow. This aircraft has had a long history, initially as PH-EZF, then to USAir as N864US, then temporarily to PH-CXG, then to Germaina and Air Berlin as D-AGPG. Aaaah, de Havilland...sunset arrival at the Wide Bay International Airshow. This is actually the third Tiger Moth (& the 5th aircraft) to carry the registration VH-RVE: the other Tigers were both old Royal Victorian Aero Club machines. This particular example was built in the UK in 1941 for the RAF as T7093. Post-war it became G-AMMX and later found its way to New Zealand as ZK-BAN, before coming to Australia for a re-build.
