Bell Aircraft X-1A Seen at the National Aviation Show in Dayton, Ohio in September, 1954. It was in this aircraft on December 12, 1953 that Major Chuck Yeager set a new speed record of Mach 2.44, 1,650 mph, at 75.000 feet. The aircraft subsequently tumbled out of control due to inertia coupling, and fell 51,000 feet before Major Yeager was able to regain control and land safely. T X-1A was lost on August 8, 1955, when an in-flight explosion occurred just prior to being launched from a B-29, and the aircraft was jettisoned in the Muroc desert.

From 2010 to by 2017 the plane was completely restored as "Lucky Lady."

Pacusan Dreamboat made a couple of significant flights. In December 1945 it broke the transcontinental speed record from Burbank to New York. In October 1946 it flew non-stop from Hawaii to Cairo over the North Pole. This photo may show the crew being honoured in Washington on their return from Cairo but this is not definite. Photo believed to be at Piardoba which was the Indian base for 768th Bombardment Squadron, 462nd Bombardment Group. The photo shows the aircraft with three bomb symbols, for three missions, and four camels, being the number of times it had flown the "Hump", which was crossing the Himalayas into China. This B-29 was built by Bell at Atlanta and delivered in August 1945. It was converted to a TB-29 and modified for radar evaluation in April 1950. It is now on display at the Strategic Air and Space Museum, acquiring this 'Lucky Lady' nose art after restoration.

Outer wings of aircraft have been removed so it could be moved out of the display hangar during restoration of the facility.
