Site closed in 2008 and much of the collection including the T-28 was moved to Base Aerea San Antonio de Los Banos. Reported both as ex Ethiopian AF '510' ex 52-1190 and '505' ex 51-7756.

Although painted in Cubana colors it was actually operated by the Cuban Air Force, Executive Squadron. Noticeable modifications are the radar nose and non-standard panoramic window where Fidel Castro would sit in a rotating chair to look outside.

Initially delivered to USAAF in 1945 as 44-34535. Delivered to Portuguese Air Force in 1965 as 7101. Modified and refurbished for counter insurgency operations in Portugal's African colonies; Seen here marked as FAR 933and repainted as 937 on nose following Hurricane Michelle in Nov 2001. It is thought that Cuban forces in Angola might have brought this plane back to Cuba. However a doubt exist concerning the real history of this A-26. It might have been sold separatly to Cuba for use as a parts source only in the late 1950s until it was repaired and put in service under Cuban AF.

Definitely a piece of History: The remains of the U-2 which was shooted down by a SA-2 missile in Oct 27, 1962 near Banes, Cuba during the relevant international ICBM missile crisis. USAF pilot Maj. Rudolf Anderson was killed in action.
