A Chetak from INAS 321 "Angels" trailing the naval ensign at dusk off Ramakrishna Beach. Alouette IIIs were ordered by the Indian Navy in 1962 but were requisitioned by the IAF during the Sino-Indian War. The Navy received its Alouette IIIs in 1964 and these formed a flight aboard INS Vikrant. Later, INAS 321 "Angels" was formed in 1969 and its Chetaks have been detached for SAR and liaison duties to ships and stations as required. A Chetak flight also served in Antarctica.

A Chetak from INAS 321 "Angels" embarked on INS Viraat at anchorage off Visakhapatnam. This must have been among the final flights from the deck, as the great ship was put out of IN service on 23 July 2016, later to be decommissioned. She formerly served as R12 HMS Hermes, flagship during the Falklands War.

A museum with just the one aircraft, but what a machine! IN312 of INAS 312 "Albatross" is displayed on Visakhapatnam's Beach Road adjacent to Foxtrot-class submarine museum INS Kursura. Deinducted on 29 March 2017 after 29 years of yeoman service, the aircraft was flown for the last time to INS Dega 8 Apr 2017 by Cdr RS Dutt, Senior Pilot of Albatross. Dismantled, it was transported by road and reassembled as a superb walk-through exhibit, with aircraft equipment on display in the building to the rear.

A great comparison of sizes as a man in the water awaits rescue from an ALH Mk.I with its long winch cable and rescue basket in front of the Indian Navy's Deepak-class fleet replenishment tanker A57 INS Shakti during the President's Fleet Review off Visakhapatnam. One could better appreciate the challenges of maritime SAR through this demo during the review, with the man overboard being difficult to spot as a speck in the water.
