Making quite an impression via its massive Kuznetsov NK-12MP turboprop engines driving 18 ft. contra-rotating Type AV-60N propellers as this 'Albatross' flies over Mumbai harbour in the morning. Delivered on 30 Mar 1988, the aircraft serves with INAS 312 "Albatross" in the Long Range Maritime Reconnaissance / ASW role. The last of the type stood down on 29 March 2017 after providing 29 years of yeoman service to the Indian Navy.

Working into the evening on reassembling the last flying Tu-142M that served with INAS 312 "Albatross" to become the second such museum at Kolkata after the one at Visakhapatnam. The outermost sections of the wings have not been attached, and the nacelles for the massive Kuznetsov NK-12MP turboprop engines are being readied for attachment. The reassembly was no easy task. This was the progress prior to the pandemic lockdown in March 2020.

A museum with just the one aircraft, but what a machine! IN312 of INAS 312 "Albatross" is displayed on Visakhapatnam's Beach Road adjacent to Foxtrot-class submarine museum INS Kursura. Deinducted on 29 March 2017 after 29 years of yeoman service, the aircraft was flown for the last time to INS Dega 8 Apr 2017 by Cdr RS Dutt, Senior Pilot of Albatross. Dismantled, it was transported by road and reassembled as a superb walk-through exhibit, with aircraft equipment on display in the building to the rear.
