The Dutch national archives know nothing about this old press archive photo but the Reading Sky Observers, described as forerunner of Air-Britain, installed this Ju fuselage as a clubhouse at Woodley in 1947. Scrapped there by Miles Aircraft, c/n 641038 was built by Amiot in March 1944 and delivered to Lufthansa as D-AUAV Julius Nimis. On 23 April 1945, D-AUAV escaped from Berlin - Tempelhof with a load of passengers. On 3 May it made one of the last DLH flights, from Flensburg to Copenhagen and Malmö and back. Captured by British forces and allocated serial AM104. Its last flight was on 23 August 1945 to Farnborough for an exhibition of German aircraft. Photo from: Nationaal Archief (Netherlands)

The first prototype Miles Marathon, first flown on 19 May 1946 wearing Miles test registration U-10. The aircraft was already registered as G-AGPD almost a year earlier on 5 June 1945; a peculiar British habit. This registration was not applied until July or August 1946. Not many advanced aircraft made it to the start of the 1934 London - Melbourne race, and even fewer to the finish. New Zealanders McGregor and Johnnie Walker were able to take fifth place in the speed race in this new, but fairly modest machine. They acquired it through Phillips & Powis Aircraft here at Woodley, Reading. Photo from: Nationaal Archief (Netherlands)

Freighter based on the M.57 Aerovan, with four small Blackburn Cirrus Minor engines. The central fuselage was a detachable container. The aircraft could be flown without it and with the rear fuselage moved forward. The sole example first flew on 22 August 1947 and was already scrapped in 1948, Miles Aircraft having gone bankrupt. The photo is assumed taken near the factory at Woodley airfield, also known as Reading. Photo from: Nationaal Archief (Netherlands)
