The squadron trained AFRES personnel for worldwide deployments and providec air-to-air and air-to-ground training. In July 1991 the squadron transitioned to F-16. The squadron was eventually inactivated at homebase Bergstrom in 1996. This F-4D carried was transferred to the Republic of South Korea Air Force as 68-797 in February 1989.
