C-FXEC returns for another season in Victoria. Flying at Helitak 348, the helicopter is based in Mansfield in Victoria's high country.

Acquired by Okanagan Helicopters as CF-OKM in 1972 then exported as G-BFZC in 1978 until 1983 when it returned to Canada as C-FOKM. It then became N226BF in 1986, followed by C-FCLM, N265F and C-FCLM again in 2005. Current in 2022.

This Coulson Aircrane Sikorsky S-61N, C-FMAY was photographed from Bell JetRanger C-GXOH while logging red cedar at Torquart Bay on the west coast of Vancouver Island in February 2014. It previously flew with Court Helicopters in South Africa as ZS-HGU before joining the Coulson fleet in Feb. 1989 for heli-logging use. Over the past 33 year the aircraft has operated in Canada, the United States and Australia on firefighting contracts when not logging and was leased to Canadian Helicopters between Nov. 2010 - Jan. 2013. It went to Coulson Aviation (USA) in June 2017 as N161CG.

Sikorsky S-61N, C-FWYN operated by Coulson Aircrane is seen here hauling logs off mountain slopes just south of Stawamus Chief Mountain, a 700 m (2,297 ft) high granitic dome on the outskirts of Squamish, BC. It previously flew for Greenlandair as OY-HBJ, Resorts International and Trump Air as N221RA, before imported to Canada in 1992. About one month after this photo was taken the aircraft crashed at Canoe Creek, BC on April 2 during logging operations and was destroyed by fire after the No.2 engine lost all power due an uncontained failure of the power turbine, then No. 2 quit. Two injured.

It's amazing what you bump into when you least expect it! This Two-Twelve is based at Melbourne/Essendon for the summer but here it was, overnighting at Bendigo. There have been big bushfires already this summer and the Jetranger and Turbo Dromader usually on standby at Bendigo were away at the fires, so maybe that was it.

This S-61 was manufactured in 1968, probably as an SH-3 Sea King. It was civilianised in Sept 1992 and registered in the USA as N306V. In 1994 it went to South Africa as ZS-HGU, before returning to the US Register. It has subsequently alternated between US and Canadian registry. It was contracted for bushfire-fighting in Victoria, Australia, during the summer of 2008/9 and was based at Warrnambool. It was photographed here at the Australian International Airshow where it made a one-day appearance.

This S-61 has had multiple identities: G-BGWL, C-GMQF, N91047, C-GMQF, N611RM, C-FMAG, N264F and of course C-FXEC. It's in Australia again for the bushfire season and is seen here after reassembly.
