Wearing full Altair c/s as a demonstrator during the Paris Air Show with additional No 310, became N513 with Empire Airlines later and N496US with USAir

Delivered on May 22, 1981, N512 was returned to the lessor and stored at Atlantic City, NJ in April 1982. Placed with Empire Airlines in June 1983, mergers followed; Piedmont Airlines in May 1986 (re-registered N495US in December 1988) and US Air in August 1998. Bought by Fokker (PH-ZCC) in 1996, the F-28 next flew for Mafira Air Charter (9M-AMZ) 1997 - 99 when leased to Pelangi Airways. Sold to Bali Air (PK-KFD) in June 2000, the aircraft last flew with Batavia Air (PK-YCM) from June 2002 until stored by 2005. It was broken up at Soekarno-Hatta International airport in Jakarta in May 2008.

Altair introduced jet service with F-28s in 1980. The airline ran out of cash while introducing DC-9s on longer flights in 1982 and declared bankruptcy in November. This F-28 was bought by Empire Airlines and it followed mergers into Piedmont Airlines and US Air. Sold to Horizon Air in 1998, it was withdrawn in 2002 and stored at Moses Lake, WA.

Was supposed to become N522, but was never delivered. Went to NLM as PH-CHN.

Became N509.

First delivered in 1969 to Executive Airlines and recorded as joining Altair in 1974, but here is proof it must have been earlier. To Panorama Air Tour as N51PA in 11.82 and since 8.94 with Bemidji Airlines of Minnesota as N130BA, in service as a cargo aircraft

Altair was established at Philadelphia in 1967 and served southern New England and the mid-Atlantic states. They later flew F.28s but ceased operations in Nov 1982. This 1966 N.262 was previously with Alisarda and Cimber Air and ended up wfu at Panama City after being leased to a Colombian company.

Built in 1968 as N1033S for Cal-State Air Lines. Leased by Altair from February 1971 until May 1977.

VH-EGT crashed and burned at Dysart, Queensland, after it failed to become properly airborne on take-off on February 28, 1980.
