The Utva C-3 Trojka was a light aircraft built in Yugoslavia shortly after WWII as a result of a government competition to develop a new, domestically built aircraft to equip the country's flying clubs. The winning design resulted in series production by Utva as the C-3. It was a conventional, low-wing cantilever monoplane with fixed tailwheel undercarriage and side by side pilots. The type remained in production until the mid-1950s with around 80 examples being produced.

Bulgaria took out a licence with Focke-Wulf to bulid an air force trainer based on the Fw-44 Stieglitz. The DAR 9 was the initial designation, powered by a Siemens-Halske Sh-14-radial engine. Surviving aircraft after WWII were re-engined with Walter Minor 6.III inline engines, being designated DAR-9A, due to difficulty in procuring spares and the poor condition of the Sh-14 engines. DAR-9s were used for training in Bulgaria until at least 1949. Nine surplus DAR-9s were transferred to the Yugoslavian AF in 1947 but had been wfu by 1958. This is the only surviving example of the 42 built.

As many as 400 Jungmanns may have been exported to Yugoslavia for training prior to WWII. Presumably this example acquired the civil registration after the war and flew with an aeroclub or similar. If anyone would like to share further information, then please get in touch. The plane is now on display at this very interesting museum.

The Zmaj Fizir FN (Hydro or Hidro is the floatplane version) was designed for primary (initial) training of pilots. The Fizir FN had exceptional low-speed stability, a desirable trait for a training aircraft being also reliable and easy to maintain. The primary operator was the pre-WWII Yugoslav Royal Air Force but it was also widely used as a sport aircraft. This is one of only two surviving examples.

One hundred and fifty F-47D-40-RE Thunderbolts were delivered to Yugoslavia from 1952 onwards (also reported as 133 or 126 depending on the source) and utilised in a fighter-bomber role. The type was relegated to advanced training duties by 1957, after being replaced by the F-84 and had been withdrawn completely from service by 1961. This example is on display at the Nikola Tesla Technical Museum but, unfortunately, the cn is not known.
