On display at JASDF Hamamatsu Kohokan. The SVA.5 was designed as a fighter by Umberto Savojal and Rodolfo Verduzio during World War I. It was not as maneuverable as other fighters, so the type was used for long-range reconnaissance and as a light bomber. The two-seater SVA.9 was derived from the SVA.5 and remained in service with the Regia Aeronautica until 1927. The SVA.9 was flown by Arturo Ferrarin and Guido Masiero in the 1920 Rome-Tokyo Raid, with the former famously winning the race in 112 hours over multiple stages.

On display at JASDF Hamamatsu Kohokan. This is a 204th Kokutai F-104J that has been painted as one of 14 aircraft converted to UF-104J/JA standard, operated by the Iwo Jima Drone Operation Flight that was formed in 1992 as the Provisional Drone Operation Unit. The first two conversions could be flown manned or remotely, while the rest were pure drones. The first of these pilotless target drones was shot down in March 1995 and the last two years later. The unit marking is a scorpion on the red tail.

Thirty-six C-46Ds were purchased from USA and 12 from the Republic of China Air Force (ROCAF) that included the C-46A and C-46D. All C-46As were converted to C-46D standard. They started operating in 1955 from Tachikawa and by the Miho Detachment, which evolved into the Air Transport Wing comprising of the 401st and 402nd Sqn. Three at Iruma were used for ECM. This ex-ROCAF aircraft at JASDF Hamamatsu Kohokan was flown by the Flight Check Group for navaid calibration till phased out on 11 March 1978.

Blue Impulse Sabre on display at JASDF Hamamatsu Kohokan. JASDF's F-86F aerobatic team participated for the first time in their white & blue paint scheme at the 1964 Tokyo Olympics. The team was the first to paint the sky with Olympic rings, never done before by any aerobatic team. They also flew for Expo'70. The Sabre was the mount from 1960 in a 5-aircraft formation till the last exhibition flight with the type from Iruma Air Base on 08 Feb 1981. A total of 34 Sabres wore Blue Impulse colors.

On display at JASDF Hamamatsu Kohokan. The T-3 tail carries the emblem of 11th Flying Training Wing (FTW) based at Shizuhama AB with a stylized Mount Fuji and the Ōi River. JASDF operated 50 of the type from 1978-2007.

Delivered to the USAF as 53-4398. To the French Army in Algeria as FR01 in 1956 then to Japan as 02-4756 in 1964. Preserved at Hamamatsu from 1984.

On display at JASDF Hamamatsu Kohokan. This Starfighter wears the blue and yellow "V" marking of 5th Kokutai. The aircraft was operated by 204 Hikotai based at Nyutabaru, which was the third and final F-104J unit to be formed in 1964.
