This is one of the four PD-808 built for radio navigation checking. When the Centro Radiomisure (CR- unit codes) on 1st June 1976 was incorporated in the 14° Stormo, it became the 8° Gruppo. Other than the high visibility painting, it can be noted a typical dual com/nav antenna on top of the fuselage.

This is the first prototype of the PD-808, that flew on the 28 August 1964. It is interesting to remember that some hours after the first flight, this aircraft experienced during the take-off a bird ingestion into the left engine, that flamed out. The crew performed an engine-out circuit to land, without problems, unexpectedly demonstrating the good design and aircraft characteristics.

Aircraft still in the livery of 31° Stormo, that was the first operator of this variant. When 31° Stormo started receiving new Falcon 50s and Gulfstream IIIs, the PD-808s were gradually transferred to the 14° Stormo, that already operated the GE and RM variants. The VIP (or TA, Trasporto Autorità) aircrafts were configured for 6 passengers. Once assigned to the 14° Stormo they were mainly used for training.
