Very early "official" photo of a 'youthful' Wing/Commander Ken Wallis flying his first autogyro. (First registered on the 28th June 1961) Airfield location unknown but probably near his home of Reymerston Hall, Norfolk. Could be RAF Swanton Morley? Note the bare airframe as opposed to it's later update.

Negative from FNG archive. Wing Commander Ken Wallis was born in 1913. After retirement from RAF service in the early 1960's he started building autogyros. In 1967 he acted as stunt pilot for Sean Connery flying Little Nellie in you "You only live Twice" and is seen posing here, every inch looking the British gentleman, on a promotion tour. He passed away in 2013. Little Nellie was cancelled in 2016 as permanently withdrawn from use but survives as exhibit at the Shuttleworth collection.
