A nice shot of D-IKNI, demonstrated in the USA by Gerd Achgelis. This is surely America - does anyone recognize the airport building? Achgelis arrived in New York by ship on 21 August 1936 and flew the Stösser to Los Angeles for an aerobatic display at the National Air Races.

Developed in the early 1930's as an advanced (fighter) trainer aircraft. The first prototypes flew between November 1993 - February1934, with production beginning in 1935. Around 1000 aircraft were built and mostly used by Germany, Austria and Hungary (although other countries took deliveries as well). It was said to be highly popular amongst pilots due to its aerobatic capabilities and handling. The listed c/n and s/n is unconfirmed. Photo from W. Muntinga
