The R III light single-seater, designed by brothers Werner and Walter Rieseler, was produced mainly in Breslau (now Wrocław) by the Stahlwerk Mark conglomerate, originally a steel mill. About 50 R III aircraft are thought to have been built. This photo was taken at Devau airport in Königsberg, East Prussia (now Kaliningrad) where the Altpreussen flying school was a Mark dealer.
