In 1939, the IIIrd Reconnaissance Group (IIIe Verkenningsgroep) was based at Gilze-Rijen with eight Fokker C.V variants (605, 617, 619, 621, 622, 631, 639, 645) and four Koolhoven FK.51s (408, 416, 419, 4.). 605 was originally a so-called C.VI variant with a lighter engine. 33 of these were built (and 212 C.V-D).
