Originally delivered to the USAF as 49-074 in 1950. Transferred to the Brazilian Air Force in 1958 as 6530. Withdrawn in 1980 and sold in 1984, Registered as PP-ZAS in 1991. Became N97HU in 1994, and ferried to Canada for restoration in March 1996. First post-restoration flight in early 1997. Sold in Mexico in 2004 as XB-JHH. On 10 August of that year forced down by the Mexican authorities on a suspected drug-running flight. Beached and abandoned on the Mexican coast at Playa de la Ventanilla, near Puerto Escondido, Oaxaca. Subsequent to the removal of its engines, the airframe was left derelict and over the years sank slowly into the sand. This photo is copyright © David A.
