April 3rd 1945: TOS USAAF as 44-83546; placed in storage. 1946: Converted to CB-17G; assigned to ATC, San Francisco and later to Bolling Field, DC. 1/1/48: 501st Air Service Group, Wiesbaden. October 13 1948: SAC, Offutt AFB, NE; converted to a VB-17G 3902nd Air Base Group, Offutt. Ca.1951: Fighter Command, 5th AF, Japan, assigned to their C.O. 10/54: Davis-Monthan AFB, AZ. July 30th 1959: Began civil life. Converted as fire-fighting tanker. 9/82: David Tallichet, Military Aircraft Restoration Corp. 1988 to 1989: Fully restored as Memphis Belle and flown to England for the movie.
