This first Canadair Silverstar Mk.3 was also the first Canadair produced T-33. Taken on strength December 22, 1952, it was withdrawn and stored at Lethbridge, AB in March 1964. Ear marked for a future museum, the trainer was sold to Northwest Industries and displayed at Edmonton's downtown municipal airport. In April 1983 the aircraft was airlifted by Chinook helicopter and displayed next to NWI's hangar at Edmonton International Airport. Later mounted on a pedestal, it was moved to the Reynolds-Alberta Museum in 2009 and stored. This photo is copyright © Gary Vincent, and may not be used or published in any way without permission.
