On display outside the HAL Pavilion at Aero India 2021. In keeping with the Atmanirbhar Bharat vision, the emphasis was on rotary-wing platforms, with HAL showcasing its indigenously built helicopters. Successor to the much used SA-315B Cheetah that provides a lifeline to the Indian Army at Siachen, the Cheetal is powered by the Turbomeca TM 333-2M2 with FADEC that replaces the Artouste IIIB turboshaft engine. It is designed for better climb performance, higher payload and increased range. This photo is copyright © Arjun Sarup, and may not be used or published in any way without permission.
