Catching a fleeting ray of sunshine. The Skyhopper I was a single seat aircraft designed near the end of World War II. Certification was cancelled post war with the expected civil aviation boom not really happening. Eventually sold as one of the early homebuilt plans available, the widened two seat Skyhopper II became available in 1962. Builders were able to use a variety of engines, cowling and canopy designs. The finish on this one was exceptional. This photo is copyright © Gary Vincent, and may not be used or published in any way without permission.
