Although Continental leased several 727-100s from Boeing in 1967 for a new route to the US Pacific Northwest, they were returned a year later as 727-224s were delivered. It wasn't until the late 70s that the airline bought used 727-100s, mostly from United Airlines, to bolster their fleet. This aircraft was delivered to United June 24,1965 as N7037U and sold to Continental in June 1978. Stored by Continental at Mojave, AZ in 1991, it was later scrapped.
