Delivered to the USAF as 45-940 just weeks before the end of World War II, this C-47 was retired in 1968 and stored at Davis Monthan. Registered to Desert Air Parts (N17778) in 1973, it worked for several air carriers and private owners (as N403JB after October 1980) with Catalina Flying Boats the last operator 1994 - 2017.
