Originally built as a Dove 4 and then modified to Dove 6 specs with more powerful engines. It spent the whole of its flying career from 1948 to 1972 based at Stansted Airport checking airport navigational aids and radio communications as well as aircrew training. It amassed a total of 10,597 hours before arriving at the IWM Duxford in 1973. In 1984 it was transferred to the Duxford Aviation Society but remained on display at the IWM. Seen here displayed in IWM's AirSpace. This photo is copyright © Alastair T. Gardiner, and may not be used or published in any way without permission.
