After a long and illustrious career, this Convairliner ended her career as a fire trainer. Delivered new to SAS 13 June 1956, she served on European and Scandinavian routes for the tri-national airline until November 1976 when she was sold to Botswana Desert Airways and the registration 3D-AAC was applied, but not taken up. She was then sold to Nor-Fly as LN-MAP where she remained until 1983 and withdrawn from use at Fornebu where she ended as a fire trainer. During 1998 she was moved to Oslo's new international airport at Gardermoen where she is seen on a cold winter's day after an exercise This photo is copyright © Kjell O Granlund - Scanavphoto, and may not be used or published in any way without permission.
