The prototype Vimy after modification with Samson engines. The work was done at RAF Joyce Green. This aerodrome had canvas hangars like that in the photo and it is assumed the photo was taken at Joyce Green. Vickers consolidated its aircraft manufacturing at Brooklands after World War I.
