A historic machine gets recycled. This very first 300 series Intercontinental 707 was delivered to Pan American World Airways August 28, 1958 as N714PA christened Clipper Golden Eagle. Aeroamerica acquired the aircraft after a lease to Perfect Air Tours in April 1979 to join their fleet of Boeing 720s and 707s. When the airline was grounded in 1982, this was one of the aircraft left behind when others were returned to lessors and banks. These were scrapped at Boeing Field in 1982/83. The nose of this aircraft went to the New England Air Museum. This photo is copyright © Gary Vincent, and may not be used or published in any way without permission.
