Eastern Air was established at Lusaka International in 1993 with a pair of light twins which was supplemented by a Let 410 in 1997. Rebranding as Zambia Skyways in 1999, the airline remains in operation in 2025 serving as an approved maintenance organization and charter airline from Lusaka to various safari and tourist destinations. 9J-ZSL started service with the Soviet Air Force as 2017 Nov 1987 as an E3, to Heli Air as LZ-CCN Sep 1998, to Orsmond as ZS-OMI Oct 1999. Converted to E20 and leased to Zambia Skyways 2002, returned Jan 2003. To Mombasa Air Safari Sep 2004. To ZS-ATA April 2008 with Aircrafts Systems and the UN.
