Built as a Douglas A-26B (s/n 44-34119), this aircraft was rebuilt in 1964 as an On Mark B-26K Counter Invader with a new s/n 64-17651. It flew with 609 SOS/56 SOW from Nakhon Phanom in Thailand until the 609th was disbanded in November 1969. The aircraft was sent to MASDC where it remained until it was donated to South Korea as an exhibit in 1973.

This aircraft was originally built as a F9F-8 Cougar. The link between this type and South Korea is that early in the Korean war (on 3 July 1950), a USN F9F-3 from VF-51, operating from USS Valley Forge, downed a North Korean Yak-9P.
