Douglas "Wrong Way" Corrigan about to set off on his famous flight to Ireland. Corrigan had been refused permission make the transatlantic flight and was supposed to be attempting a non-stop flight to Long Beach, California. 28 hours later he landed at Baldonnel aerodrome near Dublin.
