This TA-4J crashed on takeoff from USS Lexington operating in the Gulf of Mexico on 17 July 1973. The pilot had a successful ejection.

Retired on 17 September 1991.

At last report this a/c was located at the Troy, Alabama airport, along with several other T-2s, in derelict condition.

In 1972 VT-9 was operating both T-2A and T-2B aircraft. The T-2A was used for the early stages of basic jet training, and the T-2B used for the later stages, such as formation, gunnery, and carrier qualification.

Damaged beyond repair when it crashed 15 kms short of the runway at Bechar-Leger Airport, Algeria, on 24 January 1979.

Registered to Samuel Hashman who was the president of Great West International and here waiting to get into the Air Canada Viscount overhaul hangar for an over-nighter. The hangar was built in 1937 when those doors would have seemed like a marvel of engineering. The lower section slides up behind the upper section then the whole thing pivots outward. There was an individual electrical button for each segment which was pressed to start the whirring and rumbling as they opened.

One of a fleet of flying boats operated by Midwest Aviation and here in the yellow/brown/grey livery after amalgamation with Transair. It crashed into terrain in a remote region of Vancouver Island on 9 September 1974 while with West Coast Air Services.
