World War II era Goose that was delivered to the Royal Canadian Air Force (as 926) in July 1940. Converted to turbine by Marshall of Cambridge using a McKinnon STC turbine kit while registered G-ASXG. Registered to Air West in April 1974, the airline cited the high cost of PT-6 engine overhaul when it converted the aircraft back to piston power in 1985 (but kept the other Mikkinon modifications). Leased to Pacific Coastal Airlines, the amphibian crashed on take-off at Rivers Inlet, BC on May 12, 1988.

Operated by the Alaska Department of Public Safety whose shield can be seen below the cockpit window. On 11th October 1994, whilst completing a survey flight near Haines, AK., on behalf of the Alaska Fish and Wildlife Department, this aircraft crashed in unknown circumstances killing both occupants.

On 24th June 2007, whilst in the service of Peninsula Airways, this aircraft was badly damaged in a take-off crash at Dutch Harbor, AK., and is now a static exhibit in the Evergreen Aviation and Space Museum, at McNinnville, OR.

A yellow Goose of Chalk's, photographed in Key West. We think the location is Key West Bight with what is currently the US Coast Guard facility at Trumbo Point. The US Navy destroyer escort Joseph K. Taussig (DE-1030) seems to be moored there and the ship's history indicates that she served as a school ship at Key West from January to July 1966. This Goose is painted as V190 which crashed into cliffs on Block Island, RI in April 1942. It is actually the next in series, V191 which was sold off after the war and registered as NC5538N in 1948. While with Catalina Seaplanes it was involved in three major accidents causing substantial damage. In July 1966 it landed in the wake of a tugboat causing the tail unit to distort, in January 1970 it nosed over on landing in the water wheels down and in December the same year it collided with another aircraft on the ground while taxiing at Long Beach. In 1974 registered N12CS and to museum c.1986

A Garrett TPE331 turbo conversion conceived by the US Fish & Wildlife Service office at Anchorage as a long-range survey aircraft, a 40 inch fuselage extension allowed two extra seats in the cockpit. The aircraft was re-registered as N92MT in October 1993, exported to Chile as CC-CTG in September 1994, reverted to N92MT in May 1995, changed to N86MT in January 1996, and finally re-registered as N221AG in June 2001. Sadly it was destroyed on 27th February 2011 when it crashed on take-off from Al Ain International Airport in the United Arab Emirates. Note F&WS Goose N789 in the background.

Built in 1945 as Grumman JRF-5 Goose c/n B-137 BuNo 87743 for the US Navy, it was retired in 1953 and passed to the US Bureau of Land Management as N642. In the late 1960s, (conflicting dates are quoted), it was converted to turboprop power by McKinnon Enterprises of Sandy, OR., gaining the new c/n 1204.

Built as a JRF-5 for the USN in 1942, this Goose was registered N1523V in 1955. In 1958/59 it was converted by Kaman to become the only K-16 tilt-wing experimental aircraft with YT58 turboprops for VTOL/STOL development work. Ground runs were carried out here at Windsor Locks in 1960 and in 1962 it was flown aboard a C-133 to Moffett Field for wind-tunnel tests. After return it was never flown. Given to the museum in 1965, by 1975 it had been restored and had its huge props fitted after 2000, but these have been removed again. The C-124 and C-133 behind were both destroyed in the 1979 tornado.
