Prestwick was a regular standby Airport during this era when there was fog about and would receive many diversions during the winters then with lots of larger types on the ground at any one time. This aircraft was a fog diversion from Heathrow.

Prestwick used to be a wonderful Airport for transatlantic aircraft fuel stopping and all sorts of interesting visitors came here. This was one of many DC8s that used Prestwick as a staging post to other destinations.
