The Iryda was intended as a trainer replacement for the TS-11 Iskra. However, it was already obsolete when entering service and after a couple of crashes it was withdrawn from use. This example is actually SP-PWC and is on display at the wonderful Polish AF Museum.

In total, 36 MiG-23MF (and 6 MiG-23UB twin-seat training variant) aircraft were delivered to Poland, going on to serve with the 28th Fighter Aviation Regiment in Słupsk. However, the introduction of the superb MiG-21bis halted further purchases of the MiG-23 aircraft, thus saving on the higher financial outlay in both purchase and operation. A total of 100 Yak-23s were purchased by Poland making the Polish AF the second largest operator after the Soviet Union. The Flora turned out to be have a short operational life and it was quickly replaced by the MiG-15. This example served in the Officer Aviation School No. 5 in Radom and then as a ground instructional frame at the Higher Officers' Aviation School. It is now on display at the Muzeum Sil Powietrznych.
