Formerly D-ABOM and N785PA, this 720 was operated by Ariana for seven years, finally being scrapped at Miami in 1984 as HK-2558X of Aerotal

One of the many nice 707s which received attention from Aviation Traders at Stansted long before the airport became a low-cost hub. Originally AA's N7517A, this one was sold as N2143H to Comtran in 12.89. Broken up at San Antonio in the mid 1990s after storage

These bizarre "RAF Air Support Command" marks were applied for a film while 'ZH was in a derelict state at STN. Quite who would have been fooled by the huge roundel on the tail is hard to see; note the serial 'XV196' borrowed from a Herk (which incidentally was still active at the time of the photo). Formerly Flying Tigers' N452T, she was bought by Transmeridian Air Cargo 29 Jan 1972 and known by them as 'Hangar Queen' - a name that should have been heeded as after returning to service she crashed in the sea just after take-off from Kai Tak on 2 Sep 1977.

New to United as N8065U in 7.65 and sold in 10.83 after storage at Las Vegas but broken up at Stansted by 1985 with TT 43,645h

The only time I got to see an Indian Connie... but I'm not complaining, what a fine sight! First delivered to Air India as VT-DJW "Rani of Bijapur" in 7.58; passed to the Air Force in 4.62 after freighter conversion. The Indian military was forced to retire its Constellations when Air India would no longer perform maintenance on them due to lack of spares; BG579 made the final flight on 31.3.84. BG583 was wfu at Pune in 1983 and apparently moved to Agra for storage for the IAF Museum. It survived there until at least late 1998, but its current status is unclear.

Sold in Canada not too long after this shot but returned to UK in 7.94 as C-FDFC, sadly to be written off in a take-off crash two years later

The former D-ABUJ of Lufthansa was sold to the UAE as A6-DPA in May 1981 and then to Sudan in May 1986.

Originally ZK-BRE with NZNAC and became VP-LKA, being delivered to Antigua in full Air Caribbean livery from EMA in 6.75 after preparation at BSL. Sold to Southern International in 2.78 and ferried back to Hurn via New York. Flew mercy missions into Eritrea before sale to Royal American 5.80 but remained at Stansted having failed to take up N140RA; scrapped in 9.82

Seen outside Ford's hangar at Stansted on a clear winter's day, ex FAB2110 of the Brazilian AF. Sold to Kabo Air as 5N-KKK (some sources quote 5N-GGG) in 7.93, wfu by 1999 and derelict at Kano
