Essentially a swept-winged Ouragan, the Mystère II could break Mach 1 in a dive, but was quickly superseded by the more advanced Mystère IV.

Hunting down preserved aircraft is really rewarding when they look as nice as this Mirage on a beautiful evening in May. Little more than a glider airfield, LFPF is located west of Paris.

In France as well as in Britain, the Meteor saw prolonged service as a test bed. Apparently Nos NF11-1 to 9 never served as night fighers but went straight to Centre d'Essais en Vol. RAF serial allocated to this one is WM303.

Designed for Mach 2, this bizarre aircraft made some 140 flights in 1956-57, but had trouble exceeding Mach 1.

Equipment of the flying school at Salon once included a flight of Mystère IVAs. This airframe is actually No 182. Later moved into a slightly different position at the École de l'Air gate, this aircraft can no longer be photographed from the public road.
