XE489 recently repainted as "XE364" on display at the Grand Opening Day of the Historic Aircraft Museum. The museum closed in May 1983 and the contents auctioned, XE489 fetching £6500. Became G-JETH. The wing spar attachments were found to be cut through so FB.3 WM983 was acquired and became G-JETH instead. XE489 with the wings of WM983 (in themselves from WV909!) was sold in the Netherlands. The aircraft marked as "XE489" at Charlwood is G-JETH with the fuselage of WM983 and just the wings from the original XE489.

Taken into storage, initially at RNAS Abbotsinch 1962 and later at RNAS Culdrose 1963. To the FAA Museum, Yeovilton 9th April 1968 for display there (which it still is in 2022).

Used by the Royal Marines (847NAS) in cyclone relief operations in East Pakistan Nov.1970. Written off 7th Nov.1983 when it crashed in white-out conditions shortly after take off from Setermoen, Norway during Exercise Clockwork. Wreckage to AIU Lee-on-Solent and on the dump there by Aug.1986. Sold as scrap early-1987 to Park Aviation Supplies, Faygate and gone from there by Oct.1993.

During its service life it underwent two upgrades, to HR3 in March 1953 and to HR5 in Nov.1956. After serving with several different units, it arrived with Culdrose Station Flight by Feb.1966.
