This Piaggio was first registered in Germany in December 1960. as D-INLE Enetered the Australian Register in 1964 as VH-GOE finally ending up at Bankstown in this poor condition. it was struck off the Australian register in May 1976. and now is in the National Museum and Art gallery in Boroka. PNG.

At the time the photo was taken VH-FSA was used for aerial mapping and photography. The logo on the tail is that of Forrester Stephen, a Melbourne-Essendon based charter and aerial survey company. It also represented Piaggio and several other aircraft manufacturers.

VH-GOC found use as a freighter with South Pacific Airways after its sale by Ansett. It was hauling 11,000 day-old chickens when it crashed near Marulan, New South Wales, on February 22, 1977.

VH-GOB was formerly with Ansett in Papua New Guinea. At the time of the photo it was used for aerial photography and was withdrawn from use at Bankstown in 1981.

Was first registered G-APYP and registered VH-MMP and named :RMA Pilbara: on the 3rd. Feb. 1964.

Taken at Bankstown shortly after sale by Papuan Airlines. Now survives only as a partial fuselage.

VH-CAC was part of the Department of Civil Aviation fleet from 1961 to 1972 based in Papua New Guinea. It was destroyed on September 16, 1982 when Socata Tobago VH-BXC was deliberately flown into it when parked at Bankstown airport.

VH-BHK was registered in 1960 and used to supporting bauxite mining at Weipa, Queensland. It was withdrawn from use at Cairns, Queensland in December 1977. Approval was given to ferry it to Sydney in January 1978 for scrapping. Initially it went to Sydney's Kingsford-Smith Airport, possibly a weather diversion, before being ferried the short distance to Bankstown Airport where it joined a Piaggio graveyard with eight others. In 1984 the derelict -BHK was sold to a Brisbane collector, who trucked it back to Queensland. It ended up as an exhibit at the Queensland Air Museum at Caloundra

Ex Airlines of South Australia. VH-ASA was withdrawn from use in 1979 and scrapped.

VH-GOE was one of fleet of P166s Ansett-MAL operated in Papua New Guinea

Withdrawn from use in 1976 and scrapped. Commuter Airlines operated scheduled services out of Essendon with a fleet of P166s.

This distinctive machine was first registered in the UK in 12.59 and was bought by McAlpine next year. A regular part of the Southend scene in the Seventies, she was wfu in 2.82 and donated to the Science Museum in 5.85. Currently in the Wroughton store in a white/blue colour scheme

After storage at Rome-Fiumicino in 12.86, this P.166 was transferred to the Guardia di Finanza as MM25172

Traded to Hawker de Havilland as part of a Twin Otter order. VH-GOA sold to a cargo operator but it was never to fly again.

Ex G-APVE. Withdrawn from use in 1975.

Ex-D-IHAL. Withdrawn from use in 1977. Now at the Uralla Military Museum.
