Actually B-004, this is one of 30 Lincolns delivered to Argentina in 1947. Although serialled RE531, it never flew with the RAF, going from Avro straight into store at Langar. Along with 15 Lancasters, they represented the biggest bomber force in S. America. Lincolns were used in the attempted military coup of 9.51, by both sides during the 1955 Revolución Libertadora that deposed Juan Perón, and for Antarctic supply drops. One other, B-016, survives in Argentina at Villa Reynolds AB, San Luis Prov.

Last known to have been operational about 20 years previously and now immaculately preserved in commemoration of her role as The Great Leader's aircraft in the 1950s. Had to be THE find of 2012. Unfortunately soon after removed from the airport and installed in a purpose-built indoor display where no photography is allowed

The Polish AF's 303 Sqn have painted this MiG-29 with a mural to commemorate Mirosław Ferić, a WWII fighter ace killed when his Spitfire (BL432) broke up over RAF Northolt in 1942. The MiG, based at Minsk Mazowiecki, was a previous RIAT visitor, back in 1997

Delivered new to Niger back in 1978 and normally only seen in the UK when down the road at Lasham on maintenance. Not sure which is more unusual for LHR, a classic B732 or the blue sky!

Ex N582JB and delivered in 1.09, this A320 was initially registered RP-C8898 but was rather confusingly changed to 8988. One of 10 Airbuses (nine 320s, one 319) now operated by this colourful successor to Asian Spirit. Newest addition RP-C8996 was also seen, being readied at Clark, ex B-6257 of Sichuan
