In 1978/79, SANSA grew out of LACSA, Costa Rica's then national airline. SANSA was tasked with handling all domestic traffic and today offers daily scheduled and charter flights out of San José International. Originally N759FX with FedEx Feeder from 1996, this Caravan was leased to Morningstar Express in May 2001. Pictured in Thunder Bay, it's awaiting return to Winnipeg on it's usual daily route. On October 6, 2005, the aircraft departed on the early morning flight from Winnipeg to Thunder Bay when it encountered icing conditions. Requesting return to the airport, the pilot lost control nearing the turn to final and crashed on railway tracks next to the Red River.
