The SNC Falcon was an all-metal trainer derived from a light fighter design, the Curtiss CW-22. A total of 305 were built, this example only serving the Navy between 1942 and 1944. It was registered N8021J by 1956 and arrived at the museum in 1984

In 1940 it was clear that the US Navy would have to increase dramatically the number of pilots that were being trained. A varirty of types were used for this purpose and amongst them were 305 Falcons. This example, of what is a very rare type, now hangs in the magnificent National Naval Aviation Museum.
