F6F-3 BuNo 25910 was delivered new to VF-38 in July 1943. The squadron saw combat in the Solomon Islands in 1943 & 44 while being land based. After returning to the U.S. in 1944, 25910 was stationed at NAS San Diego and NAS Jacksonville. It was assigned to the Carrier Qualification Training Unit at NAS Glenview, IL. in December 1944.
