The former WJ617 was built in 1954 and transferred from the RAF to South Africa in 1964. Final flight in March 1989 and preserved at this base since 1996. Sadly, protecting it from the elements has led to the painting over of all markings.

Bye to Tucano in FAF

Serial 459 was first given to a Norwegian Hawk 75A-6 which was captured by the Germans and sold to Finland. This airframe however is one of thirty Hawk 75A-8s used as trainers in Canada. The survivors were later supplied to Peru as P-36Gs. The photographer, Conrad Mohr, escaped Norway to Sweden in 1941 and reached Canada after an incredible journey.
