Starting with Wardair in 1972, reusing famous registration CF-TFX, this Twin Otter has been with about all Yellowknife airline companies save Buffalo. In the Summer of 2019 though, it jumped across the continent to be employed by the Parachute School of Toronto, via ALCI Aviation and still in Summit Air livery.

In 1957, Max Ward bought this sturdy Bristol for his airline based in Yellowknife, to attract freight business from mining and oil companies. The Freighter later made history by being the first wheeled aircraft to land at the North Pole, around 4am on May 6, 1967 flying out of Alert in support of a scientific expedition. The following year, it was donated to the city and made into a momument near the eastern end of the airport, honoring Canadian bush pilots.
