Markings on the tail for the 500th Merlin/Metro. Registered as N3107K then D-IABB and delivered to NFD-Nürnberger Flugdienst in 1982. Reregistered as D-CABB in 1983 due to an increased Maximum Take Off Weight. Destroyed in a fatal crash on approach to Dusseldorf in 1988.

K25 slide scan. Delivered 1982, reregistered D-CABB same year. While operating NS108 from Hannover to Düsseldorf 8 February 1988 suffered a lightning strike in severe weather. Loss of electrical power led to an uncontrollable flying condition and break up in mid air resulting in the loss of all on board. With German registration classes tied to the Maximum Take Off Weight an increase soon after delivery necessitated the reregistration.

Nice to see this one coming in for the night. It had problems though, as they had a comfailure which meant the emergency procedure was in full swing as it came closer to the field. Continued to Dublin the next day.
