The Deperdussin Monocoque was a successful early racing aircraft built in 1912 by the Aéroplanes Deperdussin, a French aircraft manufacturer founded in 1911 and later reorganized into Société Pour L'Aviation et ses Dérivés (SPAD). Multirole aircraft for reconnaissance, bombing, torpedo bombing and casualty evacuation. Pilot's cockpit slightly offset to port to allow medical attendant to move to forward casualty cabin which doubled as station for navigator or bombardier. Sole prototype first flown 29 March 1934. By late June it was in the depicted Mk 2 bomber form with Tiger engine, lengthened fuselage and wheel spats. Wears Fairey test reg F-1. A Russian website seems to confirm c/n F.1926 on tail. Number 12 probably for Hendon display. RAF serial K3905 allocated. Specification won by Vickers 253 biplane, but Wellesley developed instead.

Another design turned out by the prolific Fokker works - the C.XIVw seaplane. Despite the C for reconnaissance designation it was really just a trainer. 24 examples were delivered to the Dutch navy in 1939 and seaplane trainees progressed to the type after flying the Koolhoven FK.51 intermediate trainer. Eleven escaped to England in May 1940 and ten of these were then shipped to the Netherlands East Indies. Photo from: Nederlands Instituut voor Militaire Historie
