This Hercules was delivered to Safair as ZS-JVM in November 1976, to Air Botswana as A2-ACA in October 1979. The story of this Stratofreighters differs slightly from the others that Balair source for the Biafran airlift. As can be seen from the faded Joint Church Aid titles under the ICRC titles, she originally served with the churches' airlift before being made available for the ICRC.
