"Flitfire" painted to represent N37924, one of the Piper Cubs from the RAF Benevolent Fund. Piper donated one Cub in 1941 for the Fund, after which Piper dealers bought one for each US state, each Cub carrying the name on the nose. All these aircraft flew on 29 April 1941 to New York for a fundraising event. This Cub was completed on 13 January 1947 as a J3C-6. It had at least 20 owners before being gifted to the Tri-State Warbird Museum, where it was restored to flying condition.
