slide scan from the NK collection. - Eastern Airlines ordered this DC-8-61 as new aircraft, but used it for four years only before they gave it to Japan Airlines. From 1976 until 1982, Capitol Airways was the operator, retaining its old Eastern Airlines registration. The aircraft was broken up at Greensboro NC after it had been withdrawn by Airborne Express as N852AX.

This DC-8 was once a regular visitor for the annual REFORGER military exercise.
